John J. Hall, CBA, CPA

John is a Managing Director with the American Institute of Certified Board Advisors, an organization dedicated to developing independent, effective corporate oversight strategies and skills.

John has over 35 years of senior leadership experience in multi-national public accounting and consulting firms, a Fortune 100 telecommunications company, and as the founder of his own consulting, training and business coaching company, Hall Consulting, Inc.

With a deep background in internal auditing practices, practical internal controls, and business risk management, John is best known as a speaker and trainer in in the areas of fraud prevention, early detection, incident response and investigation.

For over 25 years, John has also acted as an advisor to governance and oversight boards as well as C-level executives in corporate, education, not-for-profit, and government organizations. He frequently presents fraud awareness and training programs to boards and their committees, management teams and employees. John has personally led the creation and implementation of comprehensive entity-wide Anti-Fraud Campaigns for dozens of major and smaller organizations in the US and abroad.

Through live and recorded programs, performance coaching and business consulting engagements, John helps client teams and individual program participants:

  • Identify and improve areas of exposure to business risk, wrongdoing, and fraud.
  • Improve financial results through fraud prevention and detection controls and behaviors.
  • Enhance the effectiveness of business processes and individual behavior.

John is the author of Do What You Can!, a guide to personal and organizational effectiveness.  In his latest book, The Anti-Fraud Toolkit, John has developed a system for effective business fraud prevention and prompt detection.

John holds a BS with Highest Honors in Accounting from The Pennsylvania State University. He is a member of the National Speakers Association, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Institute of Internal Auditors.
